On September 26th, our Field Studies students along with Jamie Ste. Marie and Nate Poore, did their annual wild trout sampling at a stream in Montgomery. For the past 8 years, the Field Studies students, along with Vermont Fish & Wildlife, work elbow-to-elbow with a fisheries biologist (who is also an MVU grad), to monitor the population of the fragile species. Students and fisheries biologists gently shock the waters to stun the fish to gather and weigh them before being released.
