This year each program had many of their current students involved in helping out with the workshops. Our students were able to connect with them, and hear them talk so highly about their programs and the success they're having. Also, since current MVU
high school students were there (some who our students may know or know of) it felt even more impactful. While reading through our students' post-trip reflections, the majority stated that they had a positive experience and could see themselves attending NCTC. I'll share a few responses from students:
"My first rotation was Medical Professions and I had a really fun time. I have a lot more interest in nursing now that I’m back from there. I would definitely visit and I think I’m going to sign up. It seems really fun and a way to learn more about my future career." - AD
"The first program I visited was the building trades and I really enjoy learning about what you will expect if you want to join and about credits and pay. The layout was very nice. The instructor said if you were to join you would get your own boots if you didn't have any other stuff and that in high school you get to work on building a house from scratch. They have a lot of career paths that you can choose from and would be a great choice to explore and find a career for you." - MB
"My first class was law enforcement/public safety and I really liked how they break the videos down and I think it gives you a good opportunity to learn about how they do stuff in law enforcement. The videos were pretty graphic but I found them pretty interesting. They talked about how they go to different places a lot like jails and stuff and I think I'm pretty interested in that." - BL
"Based on my visit, I would consider NCTC as an option for my high school career because doing this, you can get into a college for your career and then get into a good paying job.” - GD
